One simple and free third party solution is to use Skitch, which offers a few more text styling options like outlined text, or better yet, go all out and buy an app like Pixelmator, which is a full-fledged image editor and Photoshop competitor at a fraction of the cost (15 as of writing).. Too bad, I would love to be able to do what you can with your Mac If you have much text to add, the text box will move off the photo and out of sight so you do not have a text box to use.. This is time consuming, since I had created a new Book under Photos app and will now have to recreate that effort to be able to add text.. I duplicated the Book from 2014, and am able to replace pictures with new pictures and add text.. Further experimentation has led to me being able to use the format I last used in 2014 under iPhoto to allow me to add text under individual pictures. 2
